Azyki’s goal is to make Precision Medicine Decision Support system (PMEDS) accessible and affordable. PMEDS considers patient’s current medications and genetic makeup to provide actionable information to help physicians select the right medication at right dose.

Greater than 95% of people have genetic variation that causes changes in drug response. Around 15-75% of people take at least one high risk drug, higher proportion in older aged and those requiring increased follow-up. Older people also take multiple drugs increasing the risk of drug-drug interaction.

PMEDS considers both drug-drug interaction and drug-gene effects (Pharmacogenomics, PGx in short) when providing actionable information to physicians on what drugs are safe and effective for a particular patient.

Why PGx

You might be aware that genetics can affect an individual’s physical traits, but do you know genetics also can determine an individual’s response to medications! Two people can take the same dose of the same drug but respond in very different ways. In fact, 90% of people have a genetic variation affecting drug response.
